MPH or KPH and then drives the gauge needle to display the result. There are four outputs from that IC that go to the four speedometer gauge coil winding inputs. After checking it it's apparently a stepper type configuration because the voltages to those coil wires are a pulse type in nature and not a linear voltage in relation to the amount of speed. I cannot find any data sheet info on this chip so tying to reproduce what it is doing would be a challenge. I found other ICs for speedometers that do the same thing but not outputting a stepper voltage in the way this one does. It's probably going to be easier to modify the signal before it goes into the cluster.
